ABORIGINAL WOMEN'S PROGRAMMING ELEMENTS GRANTS AVAILABLE
Notice from the Department of Canadian Heritage
Greetings!
We are pleased to inform your organization that the Aboriginal Peoples' Program (APP) is now accepting applications for the Aboriginal Women's Programming Element (AWPE) for projects in the Ontario Region for the 2012-13 fiscal year. Please review the Call for Applications letter attached here.
For more information or to apply please contact the Program Officer or Canadian Heritage Office noted in the attached letter for your area.
**Please note the following:
· The application deadline is December 16, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. Applications sent in the mail must be postmarked December 16, 2011 to be considered. PDF or scanned documents sent by email or faxed documents can be considered originals (no need to send the originals in the mail) as long as there is an authorized signature on the document and the document has been received prior to December 16, 2011 at 11:59 p.m.
· All application requirements and forms are now accessible directly through the Canadian Heritage website at http://www.pch.gc.ca/. We suggest you bookmark us in your browser for quicker access in the future. You will no longer receive program guidelines or forms from a Program Officer unless you are unable to download them, in which case we ask that you contact us so that we can send you a hard copy. The Aboriginal Electronic Funding Application Package (AeFAP) which was available on-line at the last call has been removed from the website and remains under construction for this year. Please use the General Application Form instead which is available at the link above in PDF or HTML.
· Applications received by the deadline are expected to be complete. A complete application will consist, at minimum, of the following documents: the General Application Form, the Proposal; the Budget; the Cash Flow, the Workplan and the Application Checklist. As per the Application Checklist, several other documents may also be required depending on your application. Incomplete applications will be rejected. This does not preclude Program Officers from seeking clarification or other information from you in the two to three week period following submission to ensure we have a good understanding of your project. Keep in mind that providing the department with electronic copies of all of your application documents does help to speed up the process. You may be asked to provide them at some point in the process, so we suggest that you keep them.
· Program Officers are available to discuss your project or to provide you with individual guidance on a draft application prior to the deadline. First time applicants must contact a Program Officer in advance of submission to discuss eligibility.
· IMPORTANT FOR ALL APPLICANTS - Please note that for 2012-13 the desired range of funding available for each AWPE project is $25,000 to $100,000.
