AIAI ANNOUNCES ADVANCEMENT IN COMMUNICATIONS

London, ON– The Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians (AIAI) took a large step forward in establishing a web presence today.  Their website has been redesigned, while a new Facebook fanpage and YouTube channel have been launched concurrently.

Grand Chief Denise Stonefish stated, “This represents a significant stride for our organization in being able to communicate more efficiently with our Member Nations, Chiefs Council, and the public at large.”  While traditional forms of media will continue to be targeted, AIAI can now focus on reaching a greater number of the online community, which undoubtedly includes a large portion of the younger First Nations demographic.

A more robust and content-rich experience will be presented to visitors of the website, which includes a new color scheme and improved navigational layout.  Content now incorporates video and audio as mainstays.  Visitors may now use the website to join the mailing list from the contact page.  The new technology that hosts the website has already allowed for the live-streaming of AIAI’s recent provincial election town hall with great results.

A Facebook fanpage has been created that provides for frequent AIAI updates, including pictures and events.  Reference and information documents will also be available through direct links on the website.

The fanpage will provide an avenue for registered Facebook users to post comments and questions about the organization and its events.  The experience is meant to be an interactive one and can be found at www.facebook.com/aiai.pto .

Rounding out the new additions is an AIAI YouTube channel featuring a variety of audio and video content.   Viewers may access this channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/AIAIadmin

“We are excited to embrace these mediums and look forward to reaching a wider audience in a more timely fashion,” remarked Grand Chief Stonefish.

AIAI is mandated as a political territorial organization to defend and enhance the Aboriginal and Treaty rights of its eight member First Nations.  Their website may be visited at www.aiai.on.ca .
