AIAI CONGRATULATES ELECTED CHIEF AND COUNCIL OF THE MOHAWKS OF THE BAY OF QUINTE

London, ON – The Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians (AIAI) welcomes the Chief and Council of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte after their recent election.
"Congratulations to the Chief and Councillors on their success in being elected to the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Council”, stated Grand Chief Denise Stonefish. Chief R. Don Maracle was re-elected to another term in office, while Doug Maracle, Carl Ted Maracle, Barry Brant, and Roy Maracle were successful in their bids for Councillors.
Chief Maracle brings an accomplished political and professional career to the Position. Some of the highlights of his career to date are twelve years as a Councillor, and sixteen years as Chief of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. He was a federal public servant for fifteen years, and a Past Director of First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI), Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians (AIAI) and Ontario Heritage Foundation.
Grand Chief Stonefish offered, “On behalf of AIAI, we look forward to working with Chief R. Don Maracle and the Council in the challenges that face First Nations. Best wishes in your willingness and commitment to serve during your term in public office.”
