AIAI CONGRATULATES NATIONAL CHIEF ATLEO ON RE-ELECTION

Toronto, ON – The Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians congratulates Shawn A-in-chut Atleo on his successful re-election to the position of National Chief for the Assembly of First Nations on a decisive third ballot vote.

Grand Chief Gordon Peters stated, “We as an organization look forward to a positive and productive working relationship with National Chief Atleo over the course of his mandate.” 

First elected to the position in 2009, National Chief Atleo has advocated passionately on a wide range of issues, including the advancement of our inherent and treaty rights. National Chief Atleo has also placed special emphasis on recognizing the role of youth as well as First Nation education.
