About

AIAI Position

AIAI supports the call for a national inquiry for missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

Background

The Conservative Party of Canada has eliminated funding to the Sister’s in Spirit Research project and has dismissed calls from the Native Women’s Association of Canada and First Nations for a national inquiry on the missing and murdered women. AIAI calls for continued support of the Native Women’s Association of Canada’s Sisters in Spirit research project on missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

AIAI has recently been working in partnership with Atlosha to start a dialogue in our communities about violence against women and children.
